Our preschool serves families residing on Fort Carson. Our preschool provides a foundation of learning in a fun, warm, nurturing, safe, secure, and inclusive environment where every child is valued as an individual.
Emily Murray, a Texas native, earned her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Texas before dedicating eight years to teaching various grade levels, including 1st, 3rd, and 4th grades. She furthered her education with a master's degree in Instructional Design and pursued administrative licensure with a focus on leadership from Western Colorado University.
Now in her second year of administration in District 8, Murray is committed to fostering an engaging and supportive environment for preschool students. Emily has a profound connection to the military, shaped by her own family's years of active duty service. This personal experience has instilled in her a deep commitment to supporting military families and helping navigate the challenges faced by military families.
Emily says, “My educational philosophy for preschool is rooted in the belief that every young learner deserves an environment that is both engaging and supportive. We face the most important task of laying a strong foundation that not only nurtures their initial curiosity but also fosters a love of learning that will sustain them throughout their educational journey. We want all our Preschool Pups to love coming to Weikel!”
Please note:
Playgrounds are closed before, during, and after the session.

Does my child need to be potty trained?
No. The classroom team will change diapers as needed. They will also work as a team with the parents to support potty training.
Is there before and after school care?
FFC8 does not offer before or after-school care for preschool.
There are neighborhood bus stops within the Fountain portion of FFC8 boundaries that are farther than one mile from the school.
Bus service would not be provided to a daycare center outside of FFC8’s Fountain boundaries. For instance, bus service is not available from Fountain to the CDC on Fort Carson.
