Full Day Kindergarten
Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8 offers full-day kindergarten at each of its K-5 elementary schools.
Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8 believes that each child is a unique and special individual. Our district is committed to partnering with parents to help each Kindergarten child achieve his or her potential by providing a safe, secure and responsive learning environment. Our educators recognize that children need strong, secure relationships in order to thrive, develop confidence and resilience, and experience a sense of belonging. Kindergarten students will have fun as they engage in purposeful play and develop a love of learning. In every classroom, students will explore, experiment, create, imagine, wonder, solve problems, take risks, make discoveries and experience success in their learning.
Teachers in FFC8 work to provide a "ready school" environment that meets the needs of each young child and provides a positive beginning to the K-12 learning experience. Our teachers believe Kindergarten students learn best through developmentally appropriate instructional practices - teaching that meets children where they are, as individuals and as a group, through hands-on, engaging and meaningful learning experiences and purposeful play.
To enroll in Kindergarten, children must be five years old by October 1 of their kindergarten year.
Call your neighborhood school or the administration building at (719) 382-1300 to learn more about free full-day kindergarten and how to register your child.
