2024-2025 Preschool Enrollment

Please Note: To enroll in preschool, families must live within Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8 boundaries. Out of district families will not be accepted for Colorado’s Universal Preschool Program.

**If your child will be 5 by October 1, they should enroll in Kindergarten; they are not eligible for preschool in District 8. The district will hold a Kindergarten Information event on March 4^th. Please contact your local elementary school for additional information.

Families are required to complete the UPK application (Universal Preschool) for the program they have selected.

4 Year Olds: 4-year olds can receive 15 hours per week of free preschool. To qualify for this, children must be 4 by October 1, 2024.

3 Year Olds: 3-year olds with at least one qualifying factor are eligible for 10 free hours of preschool per week.

3-Year-Old Qualifying Factors include:

Household income below 270% for the 2023 federal poverty guidelines
Individualized Education Program (IEP)
Homelessness
Dual language learner
Foster/Kinship care

Full Day Preschool

The district offers 2 full day preschool classrooms, one on Fort Carson and one in Fountain for qualifying 4-year olds.

Eligibility requirements for Full Day:

Children must be 4 by October 1, 2024
Family must meet income requirements (household income below 270% of the 2024 federal poverty guidelines) AND child must have one additional qualifying factor

4-Year-Old Additional Qualifying Factors include:

Individualized Education Program (IEP)
Homelessness
Dual language learner
Foster/Kinship care
Household income at or below 100% of federal poverty guidelines (this is an additional qualifying factor for 4-year-old Full Day Preschool)
